It's certainly being downplayed.  I just finished  my 14 days after a positive.  Cleared non contagious from hospital.   Just walked down the soi where the night life thrives.  A manager just stopped me  asked where I been?  I sai. I tested positive  went into quarantine.   Her reply we just finished too.  We all test positive  5 days, we good now.  So, she just said, her and the ladies tested positive  but never stopped working, or seeing people.  The doctor told me when I cleared, that one in ten patients are severe.  So, yeah with people positive,  complacent,  and not caring it's a real possibility you'll be exposed

It is like that everywhere in my opinion, I knew of people in Canada that tested positive but never stopped working as well

That may be true but also illegal, and those people could have (should have) faced the $5000 fine for not doing self quarantine as the law requires.

Yes there is always that possibility.  But not just in Thailand but all over.  Unfortunately some people just don’t care about others.

Fallangs too; I've only been to a local restaurant once this year (after Covid hospital) and the stories are silly.  Many seem to have been sick, or failed a test, but very few did any form of isolation - and they don't seem bothered at all about that.

If you read and listen to Doctors  and scientists  those that are twice vaccinated  as I am, and who contracted the Omicron have a 90 day window of stronger immunity agianst the Delta Variations,  which would be my only concern.   Getting the Omicron again is ultra low on possibilities.   And my Hotel that I lived in for two years is on said Soi.  So I do have to walk the gauntlet or move.  No need to move.  Also Im not contagious to others.

I am 2 x vaxed use a mask, live in the sticks and have no recollection of anyone dying from Covid around here in the last two years.

Just wrote what the doctor at the hospital  told me.  I dont  know what his definition of severe means, death, lasting debilitation,  or long occurrence of symptoms,  I dont know.  But severe doesn't  always mean death.  I agree one in ten sounds like a lot, but thats what he said.  It doesn't  mean he is only talking about Omicron,  as the Delta Variations  is still prevalent in Thailand.
