Would YOU send a loved one to live in a care home 6,000 miles away in Thailand?

Coming from a hospital appt, I struck up a conversation with a foreigner in the MRT. He's 87 & navigating his way back home to Sukhumvit. He has a full-time paid caregiver for 20 years. He plans to leave her everything.

When we moved here, we didn't expect to get trapped by Covid, old age & insurance. Most days, I'm resigned that i shall probably never see my loved ones in person again. Fact is, there's no room for me there anyway.

The love doesn't go away if you make the effort to stay in contact. i visited every summer for more than 30 years. They could visit me!

Learning Thai is great for dementia...

The visas are a problem. Is assisted living not the same as medical tourism? How about making it easy on oldsters.

Marketing is all in Thai so presumably full of Thais, not sure that's ideal for English speaking people that have never been to Thailand especially if have dementia and the like

If they have dementia they probably don't care if they speak English. It would be more about acting friendly and quality of care.
