First lot of inexpensive Antigen Test Kits for online sales in Thailand immediately sold out

Covid19 Antigen Test Kits (ATK) sales from the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) were sold out as soon as an online sale started at 9:00 AM. on its website today, January 17th, according to local media reports.

 

On Friday, the GPO announced the first day of online sales for the ATKs would be available at the beginning of the week via http://gpoplanet.com at the inexpensive price of 35 baht per piece.

 

The tests are sold in a box of 700 baht per box, containing 20 test kits. The online sale started at 9:00 AM. and was available for people and representatives across the country.

People are limited to 1 box per month. The lower priced tests have all sold out in local shops

It's still surprisingly easy to find kits in the 50-70 baht range around Bangkok, but I haven't seen anything being sold as cheaply as these GPO kits.

 

If they really wanted wide distribution, though, they would sell them individually or in the usual packs of 2-5 pieces that every other brand has, not boxes of 20 - those seem to be specifically engineered to be convenient to resellers.

This is a little misleading IMO , why ? Because the sell out is due to traders buying them in large numbers and then to be sold off individually at 3 or 4 times the original price ( a minimal markup )

We can't get hold of them down here in Oz either. Our bunch of clown's that call them self a government, are telling us to get out and get rat test and test your self and family 3 times a week but at Aud $15.00 a hit not a problem, If the UK but the & USA can hand them out for free why can't they heel we are in the top 5 highest paying taxes in the world. anybody that would want to come to live or holiday  need to be in the million's .
