  • Do what you want. You certainly drive how you want so don't know why you're even bothering to ask.

  • Pay now. Otherwise you (wife) will have problems on your next interaction with DLT, be this licence renewal or tax renewal.

  • Throw em in the bin.

I ignored 2 previous fines for a different motor and renewed tax/mot without any problems...not proud of it but those 2 fines were for crossing chevron lines on the exit and entrance to toll booths on the same motorway (7)

500 THB is peanuts... pay it and hopefully they'll use that money to fix potholes in certain roads.

Those are sneaky cameras under the bridge.

Not as simple as that,i would dispute the accuracy of there speed camera, and both pictures showing me crossing over onto chevrons also show 2 of those 50 baht speedster vans forcing me out of my lane.

So no i dont drive how i want.

That old chestnut, why did you even bother posting this ?? So their speed cameras are wonky now eh, glad you can tell, it's 500 baht pay up or shut up.

Why would you even consider not paying a tiny fine that you incurred?  Do you consider yourself above the law or are you just a bit hard up?

Why would you dispute their accuracy, on what basis?    What speed do you reckon that you were doing?

If you're so sure, though, what problem do you have with contacting the police, telling them that (based on nothing whatsoever) the equipment is probably faulty, you dispute the ticket and want take it to court?

Just pay the insignificant fine that you're obligated to pay or let us know how your case goes in court.

Simple answer is my speedo and sat nav, and cruise control set 118kms ph are never the same as the speed shown on there overhead gantry speeds.

They aren't the ones use for your speeding ticket.

Indeed they tend to be inaccurate, the speeding cameras are likely more accurate. Since a while they started sharing info with tax office and DL office so you could have problems when not paying,

Looks like you have a great case, then, take it to court.

"my speedo and sat nav, and cruise control set 118kms ph are never the same as the speed shown on there overhead gantry speeds".

What?  The gantries show speed limits, they don't show the speed of your vehicle as it passes!

Even more savings if you don't insure, tax or test your car.

They do show the speed your vehicle passes at.

Er, yes they do.

And quite accurately.

I know because after having new tires I tested my speedometer (with km-marker and stopwatch).

Against the rule my speedometer shows the speed very accurately (instead of having a margin showing a higher speed).

I don't gamble on 500 Baht tickets and pay them (two in ten years).

Dispute the accuracy of their speed camera?

Good luck with that. Take it to court.

I can't because I am over 60 and will not survive the ruling.

Not the ones on the part of the motorway i drive.

This morning one of them said i was doing 196km/h.

Was rolling on cruise control set at 125km/h.

OK. Not my area. Here we have such on highway #12 and yes they are OK.
Is there a chance that some Ferrari flew by unnoticed?

was a truck to my left, no other vehicles near me.

there is several of these gantry speed read outs, i find none of them to be accurate.

I suspect the cameras on M7 are really obvious and stick out on the left hand side of the road, two sets inbound and outbound from BKK.

Can anyone confirm?

Those gantries with the LED signs appear not to have cameras.

Er, yes they do.

Thanks, I stand corrected, if that is true.

Are you saying that the speeds of all vehicles that pass under the gantries (that indicate speed limits) are also displayed, in real time, that can be seen by the driver as the car approaches the gantry?   Are there multiple displays utilised as multiple vehicles pass, indicating which recorded speed applies to which vehicle?

There are four of them, one for each lane.  As you get close to it it displays your speed.  You can watch the car in front have its speed displayed, then as it passes under it pops to your speed.  They look like this, only on the number 7 motorway they span all four lanes.  Between here and Pattaya there must be 3-4 sets of them at least, maybe more (I can't remember).

Why would you not pay? Would you not pay wherever you're from? It should be a moral imperative, not fear of punishment that makes you pay.

10 years, more than 50 fines for speeding, never paid, can renew tax every year without paying, people who tell you that it's not possible are either liars, idiots, or both.

correct, and waze notifies about them few hundreds meters before you see them. Just don't forget to use waze as I do, because anyway I have never and will never pay any fine.

It would seem this is something between you and the wife. What's she got to say about your driving?

I have never woken her up to ask her...she has normally nodded off on exiting the 1st toll booth.
