Popular Post webfact
Thai PBS went to Pattaya and found the resort still largely deserted. They said that people were put off going out to bars now selling alcohol as restaurants because of the protocols in place. They reported that operators feared that the Covid-19 numbers would increase again when Pattaya is designated as a "sandbox" from February 1st. Picture: Thai PBS They said staff were earning as little as 4,500 baht a month. There was in fact a staff shortage. Bars were not hiring because of the uncertainty. Picture: Thai PBS But there was some positivity that people would be able to drink up to 11 pm from today. The media showed people at night faced with staff in white suits doing ATK tests. Along with pictures of deserted bars. Popular Post bkk6060
This report seems bogus from my observation. The bar they show is way north on Soi 18 in Naklua I believe. Yes, not many people partying in Naklua. Even during normal times you can find a deserted bar. Plenty of places are open in and around central and full of people partying it up big time so maybe show photos of those places for proper perspective. 15 2

Popular Post daveAustin
fears of rise in Covid cases when Sandbox rules relaxed Hardly. It’s there big time already. Cases will rise when you start testing locally. Oh yeah, I forgot, nobody wants to get tested in Thailand since they’ll be labelled a leper and/or imprisoned. The cat’s out the bag. Get with it. Embrace it. Let it go and live normally. Dopes in hazmat suits to have a beer?! F a doodle do!! 13

There have been about 634k American deaths in all the wars since the end of the Civil War in 1865. That includes WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc etc. By contrast - Covid has killed almost 900k Americans (mostly civilians) in just two years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_casualties_of_war 5 1 4

Very odd as using the immigration website you can set up an appointment for all services selecting a date and time. Last time I booked an appointment there was a queue snaking out through the car park but I just walked up to the doors at the appointed time and was waved straight through to the desk! I did use QueQ but that seems to have been taken over by the website.

It is very hard to get accurate information and much of the official narrative is colored or inaccurate. 60 million people die worldwide in an average year. How many of these folks with multiple co-morbidities would have died anyway? How many would have died of old age and natural causes? In the US, if you die in a motorbike accident, but have Covid, that is a Covid death. How many other nations do this? Just how accurate are the numbers, really? Absolute nonsense. 'If someone dies in circumstances involving an accident, violence or suspicious circumstances, the case is referred to a coroner for investigation. A post-mortem examination is carried out and usually an inquest is held. The Coroner's Court hears all the evidence and follows legal rules of evidence when deciding the causes of death. It is extremely unlikely that a coroner would find that someone was involved in a traffic accident, or was the victim of violence, because of having COVID-19 or a positive COVID-19 test -- so they would not mention COVID-19 on the death certificate. This applies to any death caused by an accident, violence, poisoning, or other external causes' https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/transparencyandgovernance/freedomofinformationfoi/whetherthosewhohavediedfromacaraccidentwithcovid19willbecountedinonsstatistics This is from the UK but I can't imagine it's much different in the US. 5 4

Yes, again.... and someone also should tell the people around soi Buakhao, hardly looked 'deserted' to me this morning. Cheap Charlies busy for breakfast and the Grab riders and baht buses scaring the meadow muffin out of pedestrians. Big CX and the mall pretty busy at midday..... That is because of the use of Covid ext. to get a stay Thailand e.g. Pattaya ,..instead of taking a proper visa .....it is "the silver lining " of the virus pandemic ...???????? PS: can you imaging what all those would do if Gov. Would decide to only allow the new entry programs and should stop the covid extensions .... I said IFF ! ???? Because there is a q at immigration doesn't mean the the place is busy, i just left there to head north and can concur that the place is dead as a door nail, depressingly so, Tourist's appear to be avoiding patts and only expats as evident by the q at the incompetent IO, It will take years to get back to its glory days, meanwhile tourists are right to choose phuket and surrounds, beach road was once littered by luscious females displaying their goods, now all you see are very unfit farangs exercising. 1

Why do people bother to go to immigration? Use a reliable visa agent and if necessary the Thai postal service. 2
