Police in the Ongkharak area of Nakhon Nayok province in central Thailand were called after a collision between a pick-up and a motorcycle at a crossroads.

A pick-up and bike were both in the undergrowth when rescue services arrived in the area by the temple of Wat Mai Pong Sophon.

The force of the collison was so great that the engine of the Honda bike had become detached from the frame.

Dead at the scene was Nattawut, 14. Thanadol, also 14, died later in hospital.

The driver of the bike Marut, 31, a relative of the deceased, is in a serious condition in hospital.

Thanakorn, 28, who was driving the pick-up said that the three on the bike came out of a side turning into his path and he was unable to brake in time.

Debris was scattered over a 50 meter area.

The intersection has no lights and locals say it is an accident blackspot and action is needed by the authorities to make it safer, reported Daily News yesterday.

Good ideas, but most would have little regard for lights, stop signs etc.

Sure but its better then doing nothing.

Where i lived before they had traffic lights. People stopped.. then they decided to stop using them putting in flashing mode. Madness. Maybe they were defective and repair cost money. I am not sure but the lights were great much safer on that intersection.

And again three underaged boys have an accident on motorbike, and we blame the crossings. Well, that´s a big step back to cave-living-IQ, or to presume a stage that they never left.

What about blaming uncaring, irresponsible parent, not enough policing and punishment. That as well as the government have not found out a way to provide a cheap public transport in all places needed. But, on the other hand, they only had the last 20 years to fix it.

No is clearly says a 'three person motorcycle'

Absolute standard behavior. Just today I had a near hit with a fool (not a kid) from a side Soi who looked like turning in left (which I was prepared). But no, he even went diagonally in front of me to a main road entrance.

In our village they are even younger. And those who can absolutely not handle a motorbike, they now have the new pest: electrical mini scooters, going significantly fast. Tell this in your home country.

Also very popular: three and more on/in one of these botched sidecars.

Racing around the schoolyard and on the village roads.

No one was 31 years of age and it appears in charge on said bike
