COVID-19: Thailand reports 10,398 new coronavirus cases, 17 deaths, 8,922 recoveries

Thailand on Tuesday (February 8th) reported 10,398 new COVID-19 cases, 8,922 recoveries and 17 additional deaths over the past 24 hours. 

 

▶︎ Infections outside prisons: 10,19. Prisons: 202

▶︎ Recoveries: 8,922

 

Tuesday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 2,517,89 with 22,320 deaths.

 

The news comes as Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha urged the public to understand a new way of living safely with the Covid-19 Coronavirus, a government spokesperson stated today, February 7th.

 

Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said that the Prime Minister had been watchful on the Covid-19 domestic situation in Thailand and ordered all related departments to closely monitor the infection situation after the number of daily infections have reached over ten thousand for three consecutive days.

Anutin rules out relaxation of Covid-19 prevention measures

 

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has contradicted reports that the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) plans to ease restrictions at its next meeting.

Thai government planning to adjust Covid-19 daily reports and focus on only serious hospitalizations and deaths vs. cases

The Thai government is planning to adjust the daily reports of the Covid-19 infections as a test for two days a week to, according to them, reduce public anxiety as the rates of critical patients and deaths have become stable despite the number of daily infections that has surpassed ten thousand cases for four consecutive days.
