Barley
Hello, a real estate deal in which I loaned someone some money seems to be getting sour. Could someone recommend a decent and affordable lawyer in Chiang Mai who can sort things out for me? Thanks a lot.

Many of my expat friends have also used her. Phone number 053 142366
Barley
Thank you very much. What kind of a rough estimate of an hourly rate would I expect? Just to get an idea. Or how are billings handled in Thailand?

Wandr
Sumalee wants 6000 baht an hour, even at the first meeting. So if you decide not to use her services you are out a minimum of 6000 baht, maybe twice that. How does that compare with other lawyers?

grin
Has anyone been in contact with Sumalee recently? It's been a few years since I've seen her it seemed like she may have had some health problems.

It's been a few years since I've seen her it seemed like she may have had some health problems. About a year ago I used her, but did not meet her. She carried out all work with her normal professionalism and I paid at the end - this was her suggestion. I first used her almost 20 years ago and met her then and subsequently. I did not pay for the first meeting; she never requested. Maybe times have changed.
