What about this Samsung Washing Machine? Should one buy it?
Yes. You are CORRECT. I would NOT buy a machine if it were not for the fact that I have had some clothes "scavenged" from the machines, in the past. Sometimes, these scavengers come in the dead of night. Also, I have had problems with the local machines not going through the entire cycle before stopping. This means that sometimes the clothes have not been spun dry, or that the machine stopped during the wash cycle, and cannot be restarted. Anytime this happens, it's a real bummer. This happened again today, but not to me, and to a Thai Guy. He was very unhappy, and proclaimed that the situation was ...... "YE"... terrible. I have to agree. So, this is why I have now decided to just buy a cheap machine, and see what happens. I just do not like the idea of buying Samsung....due to my experiences in the past, as I have already suggested. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Boston tea party is a different ballgame as the US guys where paying a foreign government to reign their country. If I or Somchai go to live in the US or the UK nowaday or pretty much any country I have to pay taxes in said country without any representation whatsoever. Do I like to pay taxes in TH? Hell no especially for the low service the government provides. -

Do you hate the Police?
Nah, they're just doing their job. People have this bizarre idea that "right to protest" means being allowed to occupy public areas until they get what they want, which isn't the case. Obviously the police have to move people on before they get out of control, and they're of course allowed to use force to do this. People don't like it, but generally that's because the police are authority figures who have the power to tell people what to do, which a lot of people cannot cope with. -

WISE Transfer Didn't Come Today at 2:05 as Usual
And .... 'Thanks for getting back to us. I understand that your payments use to go faster, however, the process has changed due to Direct Debits running on the three-day systematic cycle and so take at least three days to clear. The 4th working day is when we should receive the money and transfer it to the recipient. When our system communicates with your bank, it checks to make sure the balance covers the total amount of Direct Debit transfers we’ve requested in the last 4 business days.' 😀 -

Best tires for Scooter. Michelin, Pirelli, IRC?
When I bought my Honda 250 they came with IRC. Hardest and most slippery tires I've ever drove on. Awful in my opinion. I now avoid them like the plague. Since then I've had a set of Michelin Pilot Street tires on the bike. Not so outstanding either. Overpriced in my opinion. Then I had a Thai brand on the bike for a while, which was very inexpensive but really grippy and I liked them. Eventually I had to replace them, but they were no longer available. Now I've got a set of Indonesian tires I've had on the bike since late 2021. They were also very inexpensive. I think I like these the best so far. They have been on the bike for almost 3 years now and, if they are still available in the future, then I'll probably go with those same tires again when I need to replace them the next time. -

What about this Samsung Washing Machine? Should one buy it?
Even in Thailand? Just curious as to why. As far as I know, the coin operated machines I have seen never have a hot water wash cycle. Also, most guest houses also do not offer this feature. During the hot season, the water in most buildings, and houses, is quite warm, already. However, in the Cold Season, the water goes down to about 15 degrees C. Seems that this machine does have a HOT WATER Connection. Or, maybe not. It's difficult to tell if this manual applies to the Unit in Question, simply because there seems to be more than one P/N on the manual. Maybe some machines have Hot water, and others do NOT have Hot water inlet. Who knows, at this point. I will take a look at the shop, tomorrow. -

Manual shows that the water waste pipe cannot sit higher than 5cm at ANY point. So definitely no pump and you'll need a floor level waste. -
