samuijimmy Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Lots of variable weather lately especially on many beaches lately.... but there are lots of good attractions around the island... Namuang 2 waterfalls.... is worth a visit! ... and it is free! Although some attraction in the area you do pay! Good non slip walking shoes recommended A feature I had not seen before... a Water slide... (need to pay!) A very attractive garden (Samui Tropical Garden) Slide is located here! Lots to do in the area, including elephant riding and other shows.... It's well worth a trip! 2
Popular Post samuijimmy Posted December 26, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 26, 2014 Kite surfing, it can vary with winds and tides, this was the south end of Samui, the other day.... just west of Hau Thanon (AKA The Muslim Village, which is quaint and worth a walk through! ) One of the main fishing ports on Samui (Hau Thanon) It's worth wandering down the beach from the village... when the tide is low, it's a pleasant beach... 5
samuijimmy Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Sorry for anyone viewing images and wondering why the blanks, but some thing has caused some to disappear ! Popular Post samuijimmy Posted January 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 1, 2015 A good start for the new year, the missing photo that were not showing seem to be back! The sea at least in Maenam area is getting to be a lot calmer now (this was taken, late afternoon yesterday) .... it's nice to see people back swimming and sailing / wind surfing! We just need the clouds to go now~but it seems to be getting better! Ban Por beach, never many people there! (but don't tell anyone!) 3
Popular Post samuijimmy Posted January 1, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 1, 2015 Another free spot to go, Secret Waterfalls, off Soi 5 in Maenam, about three kilometers up from the Ring Road, look for Canopy Adventure Tours sign and turn left ..... but it's a bit of a hike, up... road is a bit rough so not good for unexperienced bike riders! Park by Bar and walk! There is also a 15 line Zip line up there... that does cost money! The guys up there will be helpful as to how to proceed to the falls... Looking good now! Wear good walking shoes, it is a" jungle" pathway and road! 4
samuijimmy Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Another Maenam attraction, just opened ... Good place for young kids to have some fun! Located up Soi 4 (Traffic light, turn inland) go around the Temple and keep straight... about 1/2 km... The is a concrete wall, turn right and drive in (no sign yet!) very friendly sheep! or go fly a kite! 1
Popular Post samuijimmy Posted January 19, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2015 Koh Phangan... Saturday and Sunday, as busy as I have seen traffic in a long time... on all roads! Maehaad Beach, Koh Ma area, NW side, I would guess busier than Haad Rin beach, SE side ... despite all kinds of Parties being advertised around the island.. First decent sunset in a while! (Maehaad) Calm seas everywhere! Koh Ma... Haad Rin Beach area... The long hilly and winding road! Queue at Tongsala pier headed for Samui, at 4 20pm (Lomprayah Ferry). 5

samuijimmy Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Thaling Ngam area beach.... away from the crowds! But there are two tourists there.... Well I ain't telling the nice beaches that have no people.... that's a secret.... there are many around though!!! One can always rent this, and go around either Samui or Koh Phangan, or Koh Toa, to find them though... Available for hire, from New Sunrise Villa, Maenam ... for "something different!" 1

Popular Post samuijimmy Posted March 15, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2015 Maenam beach is too busy these days, Neilly!!! You can have them in the south and west sides ... before the tides get too low! Chawang beach is a zoo too! Thaling Ngam area beaches ... yesterday! Lipa Noi area Part of Maenam beach! People under the coconut trees, to beat the heat... Although some parts of Maenam beach is quiet... but I ain't saying where!! Chawang beach a couple of weeks ago... Virt Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Seems that tourism is still good for many areas, as it is hard to find places to stay... Not just on Samui, but parts of Koh Phangan and Koh Toa too! Sure seems like there is more tourists this march compared to last year. Been 6 days in Mae Nam and had to look for other restaurants several times because the usual ones were full. Now been 5 days in fishermann village and looks like a lot of the restaurants are very busy at night. Off course some very empty too but overall quite a lot of people. Going to lamai for 12 days tomorrow and will be fun to see how busy it is compared to the last cople of times. 1
Popular Post Virt Posted March 15, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2015 A few from Mae Nam area. Cozy place to eat. Yummy fruitstand Not to far from lumprayah. Nice and clear day. Better hold on! Anyone missing a car? I wonder if this is called lakeview. Near missing car. 5

Popular Post Virt Posted March 26, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2015 Quite big waves at Lamai the last 3 days. It is a good idea wearing shorts that fits you. Saw several people the last couple of days ending up buttnaked in the water, after beeing slammed by the waves. 3
philthebook Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Wat Khunaram between the Na Muang waterfalls and Hua Thanon 2
