I have the cheapest TOT package as was not here all the time until recently. Can't stand the slow speed anymore. Any views on which package is speed/value for money. And what packages are there..thanks. There is no TRUE available where I live.

Had the 1024 / 512 Pro package until a few days ago. Download speed was ok (during the 12 - 18 hours a day it worked at all), but Ping Times and general behaviour was unbelievably bad. Had an ongoing problem since March, and it took them 7 weeks !!!! to send someone over who failed to fix it. Then another guy came, didn't fix it, and another guy, and then I was gone. have Maxnet 1024/512 consumer Pack now, and it works well.

My advise: Stay as far away from TOT as you can! (Think of Interstellar Distances!)

Stay away from TOT. i have used there service since march.

Started on the 516 plan went to the 1024 even slower, now on the 256 this week. The 256 is Faster than 1024. .

I have made many calls for service and visted the office every day for a week. Some one come your home, Bull ???t.

TOT is rubbish.

I would like to change as well so i will be following this thread for options as well.

On Tot 1024 in bangkok...........worst internet connection I have ever used in any country.

You can get the 120kb/sec download rate if i use 10 connections to a usenet server but thats about.

Latency is terrible...so bad in fact that you cannot (Maybe 1 in 150 times) connect to the Nintendo Wii Shop on your console.

Gaming pings are 600-800ms - ie laggy. Connection is erratic throughout the day. SSL sites take forever to load.

Want to change as well but no other option at my condo just now :o

I use the TOT 1024/512 package. I was really upset for about two months as I was unable to download from any bittorrent sites.

I did some mucking around and finally figured it out.

Max speed I've gotten is 100 kb/s, but I would say it averages about 80.

I know people who have true and they say that it is great. TOT is pretty mediocre....I'm just too arsed to change my service.

Have a colleague who just moved. He had no choice in either location, his last provider was True and now he has ToT. His experience was that True was OK, but ToT was ghastly even though he has a better {capacity} package provided to him. His experience is that ToT even with a higher capacity package is not significantly better, then lower speed ones he has experienced elsewhere.

ToT's contention rates are, I believe much higher, and where they have a monopoly position, the user suffers. Sorry not to be more positive.

Um..doesn't seem to be much good news for me..my downloads seem to be around 200-210 so 25ish KB/sec upload usually gives 110

What is Maxnet please..can you use it on a TOT line?

I had a idea that I may be just as well staying as I am.

Maxnet is the ISP arm from TT&T, the upcountry phoneline provider.

Only possible if you have a TT&T line, so not available in Bkk!
