Siam Rath quoted him as saying that "times change so must our approach to living with and dealing with Covid" Gone were the days of trying to stop the virus to protect the health system. Gone were the days of lockdown, quarantine and isolation. Now we were in a different place that was opening up. It was time to protect the most vulnerable, like the sick and elderly, and just learn to live with the virus. Large numbers of people had been vaxxed and now numbers were going up but severe symptoms were few. For most it might be a heavy cold or mild flu. Thailand needs to get back to normal as much as possible while still being mindful of the most at risk in society. I guess one can make the news here in Thailand by stating that what the rest of world realized six months ago.... 7
Popular Post TooMuchTime
So we should've just focused on the small percent of people who would likely be severely affected while everyone else continue on like normal? People who can critically think thought this in 2020. Edited March 24, 2022 by TooMuchTime 3 1

Without the very sudden and unexpected emergence of Omicron which 'evolved' directly from something pretty near to the original Wuhan strain some 18 months after said Wuhan strain had already disappeared from the face of the earth, a genuine miracle in itself ???? then nothing would be changing, nothing at all. When something changes you can sort the cleverest from the dumbest by measuring how long it takes them to notice the change and react to it. 2

I'd say there's a couple of years left in this yet. Edited March 24, 2022 by ukrules 2 1
Popular Post daveAustin
Yep, let’s drop the mandatory mask rule and onerous entry immediately. Bit late and obvious but at least they’re heading the right way. Gawd help us if they behaved like China and chase a fanciful zero-covid policy while screwing peoples lives at the same time.

If they dropped it like you want today then the numbers will definitely go sky high. Its already at least 5 to 10 times more then they post. The deaths and intubated as well as critical cases keep growing everyday. If they did as you say then the hospitals would definitely get over run again.....waiting until July is the right idea especially with the unlimited travel authorized for Songkran, the sky will be the limit. Not necessarily. To be clear, I’m all for wearing masks indoors in public places as stated many times here, but believe it should be up to the individual, and certainly outdoors or in one’s car. Entry: PCR tests prior to boarding should be reinstated and the Thai pass dropped. Sorry for confusion. Agree on the actual infection rates.
Stargeezr
Some people think that the 3 original strains or variants of COVID 19 do not exist anymore. What do you think biological weapons consist of? Think about it for a few minutes, the first 3 variants were killer virus, right. So is Ebola. And I hear that Russia may consider using this kind of weapon on Ukraine. Just a thought for today.
