Dwig
Is it possible to add my under 50 year old foreign wife to my retirement extension? If so what is the process. Thanks
Lite Beer
She will need to enter with a Non Imm O Visa and then apply for the same extension as you at Immigration.
ubonjoe
After you get your extension of stay your wife can apply for one based upon being a member of your family. No financial proof will needed. She will need a non-o visa to apply for it that she would have to get from a embassy or consulate. You will need your marriage certificate to be legalized to do the extension application and if not in Thai or English it will need to be translated to Thai.
brewsterbudgen
Presumably the financial requirement is the same for someone retiring with a non-Thai wife (and non-Thai kids), as for a single retiree?

Just 800K for both. One spouse is dependent.
Popular Post ubonjoe
The extension for a family member of a person on retirement is under the same clause of the immigration order for many other categories of extensions. See number 20 that is for clause 2.20 of the immigration order here. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1890

You will need insurance covering covid 19 valid for 30 days to apply for a Thailand Pass and enter the country.

Thanks Joe. I do have Covid insurance through a bank, but it expires pretty soon and they don’t want to renew it. Is this something I should buy here, or in California where it may cost an arm and a leg?
