I did notice earlier in the week that imdb.com was extremely slow... taking minutes to load a page, but seems to be working OK now for me in BKK on True ADSL.

Sorry but that is not correct.

The issues are as you say within the ISP but are not DNS related. The DNS resolution occurs, either using the ISP's DNS or an external [OpenDNS for example] but the http based 'rendering' process is what is increasingly at fault, especially with True.

For example, DNS does not play any role in determining routes taken to the server once the IP address is correctly resolved from the domain name.

PS Tried both the variants herein and got the same response, that is quick resolution of address, page header data {as shown in tab} and then the long silence leading either to failure {time out or blank page} or the page sans styling.

I tired us.dd.imdb.com and I immediately got a message by firefox saying that it cant get the server... I mean immediately, it didnt even try to load, is something wrong with my firefox?

What version of Firefox are you using? If 2.0.0.4 then de-install Java and re-install it. 2.0.0.4 seems to suck vs. 1.5.n

Maybe try IE?

No problems for me using www.imdb.com, the other addresses I provided or the plug -in (TOT/CSLoxInfo/Bangkok).

Im using firefox 2.0.0.4. The addon for imdb doesnt work on that version. I tried IE, didnt work... I tried reinstalling java... didnt work. Geeze, wish I could figure this out.

Alright, finally got the imdb search engine added to firefox from that page, but no it still wont go to the page heh. Hollywood page isn't what I need, when I did a serach there was no info on ME! Heh, or any other low level actors for that matter.

Update! We changed isp's and now I can get IMDB again... but they blocked all my torrents so now I'm really unhappy. But why would changing isps bring back IMDB? Because it was too slow before with people downloading torrents?
