Anutin: No indication to end of entertainment ban in Thailand - expects more Covid infections at Songkran

Considering the numbers of 22,387 new cases, over 2000 people in serious condition with COVID and 105 deaths,

the COVID cases are not dropping. COVID cases are spiking in many places in the world, and yet because the

pandemic has gone on for so long, most people are tired of restrictions in their lives. On the bright side, just how many posters on this

forum could get sick with COVID and not worry about their finances. Now think of most regular people in Thailand

who do not get paid if they are at home sick with COVID.  Even the rich politicians like Anutin, or even Prayut can get

sick with COVID. Look at the politicians in the USA, several of them are now infected. Is it really time to consider this pandemic is

over?  Patience is a virtue, death is forever.

Just to the untrained eye, it is blatantly obvious that the pressure being applied to the entertainment industry now has absolutely nothing to do with Covid……just my thoughts.

The protesters perhaps?

I hope he gets dropped out of the scene just like the entertainment venues. No need for this uneducated power grabbing fool. Makes a bad government look even worse. Good on you. Nice having a Fake doctor the head of our health and security.

Much as I hate this clown, he is not uneducated, he has a degree in some sort of engineering from some US university, so in the unelected military educated PM's mind, that makes him qualified to be a health minister.

Does he really know what he is talking about  The reality is that the entertainment industry is open and back to normal.

In answer to your question - No!

The reality is that the bars have a loophole/get out and many of them quite understandably have taken advanatge of it. But the fact remains that officially  bars can not sell alcohol, and is open to the whims of the local plod, and how hard up they are at any given time. Or who they "have it in for" etc. etc. As per usual the buck is being passed by those at the top, leaving the situation open to corruption AGAIN!

Not dissimilar then to Boom the soapy specialist giving a "short back-n-sides" and a "blow dry" ?

"he has a degree in some sort of engineering from some US university"

From Wiki:- "Anutin completed secondary education at Assumption College and higher education in engineering from Hofstra University in 1989.[3]"

Does "Higher Education" constitute a degree these days?

So the two accompanying Headlines for today are involving one man, Khun Anutin saying a continuation of no realistic entertainment and next door to him the TAT man saying there will be 8 million visitors for the rest of this year.

Why will they come with any kind of limitations of entry, and if in fact they happen to materialise, what will they do when they get here?

Visit temples and historic sites/parks where they will be charged at least double the price that locals pay?

Been said before many times, and the clowns in charge pay lip service to any changes, and when the tourists don't come, they will say that "double pricing" in parks etc has nothing at all to do with it! What they don't realise is that this is only one of many reasons why tourists are loth to come to a country where some of the the rules and regulations seem to be changed every day, hence the reticence of tourists who,to coin a cliche, can't make their minds up whether they will be "coming or going", so will opt for other destinations that have less hoops to jump through. The fact that the Thai Gov't are now easing these restrictions will make no difference whatsoever to the average tourist/ holiday maker who makes his/her plans months in advance to take advantage of better deals on flights, accommodation etc, and their reaction to these mixed messages is bound to be "No thanks ,we're fed up of all this uncertainty - we've  already booked elsewhere - to somewhere that values our custom and will make us welcome without worrying about what changes may come about tomorrow, or the next day."
