We did provide an announcement to our clients, and we do make announcements regularly via our @LINE. The reason we did not make any announcement here is because each immigration was still enforcing it differently. Has the usual location for covid extensions in Bangkok changed? Tried to apply 2 weeks ago and they said "You come back on 28!". OK, I came back on the 28th and got in line at 8AM. I submitted the paperwork at the front booth, they gave me a number and told me "You come back at 1PM!". Marvelous. So I come back at 1PM and used the number ticket to get through the doors and not wait in line again in the roasting heat. After a short wait my number comes up and I pay the fee and they take my passport. Then they say "You go sit down!". After a few minutes more an officer at the window beside the first waves me up and gives me my passport stamped with the extension. Fantastic, I won't have to come back to pick up my passport the next day. But then I notice that the extension expires on May 26! Not even 30 days! And it doesn't say "Under Consideration" either. So I asked the lady in the front booth and she says I need to come back on May 26th to get stamped for the remainder. But it won't cost me any more money. And I don't have to come inside, I can get it stamped outside at the passport table. I have no idea what this voodoo is all about. I guess it makes sense to them. Gives all the thais something to do----makes them all look busy and diligent--thai style! I got the same song and dance....welcome to the immig gauntlet! If you used a tourist for or other types of visas it has been done at Chaeng Wattana for year now. If you entered visa exempt it is now done at the new Laski office. Interesting, they didn’t actually say anything about it, I wonder if they’re hoping some people don’t notice and get hit with overstay fines. One oddity was I went today, may 5th, the covid extension should be for 60 days, my current visa expiring on may 18th but the under consideration stamp is May 26th anyone know if I’ll get the full 60 days from May 18th? Or just 30 or 45 days extra from May 26th?

Masterton
Just want to mention this in case anyone is in the same situation as me. I went to Laksi to apply for the Covid Extension but the man at the first desk said I could not get it because I needed to apply for the normal 30 day extension first. And then after that I could apply for the 60 day Covid one next time. I was assured that I could go back before May 23 and get it despite the new 30 day stamp only expiring on 7 June. Was not aware it was done this way, perhaps I misunderstood the procedure. I asked him if there was any chance they May deadline would be extended and he said "I think maybe" or something to that effect. Hmmm.

No appointment, took roughly 30-40 minutes from start to finish, I went at 8:30am though, there was about 20 people waiting and it got packed fairly quick. One interesting thing is, they didn't mention anything as if this would be the last extension this time, and there was no hesitation to give me the extension at all, everything was smooth.
