SOTIRIOS
,,,caught with the stolen items....and confessed......(?) .....yet......blaring in the headline.....and not the first time.....'allegedly'...... *(allegedly: used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.) ...I've heard of being 'politically correct'....or 'not rushing to judgement'.....but... Yes indeed, but as you may know the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting a "Safe and Trusted Thailand" for tourists and such publicity does Thailand no good!! With respect, does the security debacle at Suvarnabhumi Airport happen everywhere??

All jokes aside, you have to have your wits about you anywhere in the world. In my opinion, Thailand is relatively safe, but being a tourist anywhere in the world means most stand out like dogs balls, and shouldn't be carrying large sums of money, cards and handbags with them. People struggling in these times will go to any length to pick on an easy target because they know if they tried it on a Thai it would a different matter all together. Anyways I hope he doesn't find his new quarters to cramped. Edited May 5, 2022 by 4MyEgo 2
Popular Post richard_smith237
Expect a lot more of this.... As tourism opens up after a very difficult couple of years there will be ‘some’ who feel an almost sense of entitlement to the perceived influx of tourism cash... We’ll see more snatch & grabs, more hotel room bursaries, taxi-rip-offs, scams and potentially some confrontations as those who’ve struggled for a couple of years take affront to some who may be more cautious with their spending... I hope not.. but the history of poor enforcement with such issues opens up the potential... In this case though - Its good that the Police quickly apprehended the thief - Thai tourism needs to take advantage of any upturn where it can regardless of the government accountants doing all it can to put both feet in its mouth with announcements of ‘tourist taxes’ and ‘Thai Pass for foreigners only’ etc... 2

Which countries have no crime? 5555 Ive walked all over Thailand no issues. Felt safer than Sydney.

Popular Post Jotnar
A thread of the usual Thai bashing, some people seem to live for.
