Popular Post FriendlyFarang
As promised, my comparison. I'm German by the way. I have never been to Auf der Au in Saraphi, I just assume now that it's like the previous one at Loy Kroh, so I compare it to this. ADA = Auf der Au GB = German Buffet (that's the name of the new place) ADA has a much bigger variety of food, there are at least 50% more options, maybe even twice as many. If this is relevant for you does of course depend on what you like to eat, if you only like the stuff which GB has too then this alone doesn't matter much. Especially in the desert section GB are lacking a lot: No pudding, no stollen, less cakes (especially nothing with apple, I like the apple cake etc. that Udo makes), no chocolate filled croisants, no cookies, no yoghurt. Also no bread, no pancakes, no bretzels (they even have a bretzel on their banner, why don't they have them? 555), no curry wurst, no cordon bleu. Instead of all these things, GB does instead have two choices of Spätzle (noodles) with cheese, and two choices of cold potato salad (why two?), something that looks like a bolognese sauce and something that could be a pumpkin soup. GB has Schweinshachse (pork knuckle) all day long, for 190 baht, ADA only in the evening buffet for 239 (iirc) baht. ADA is more authentic, you definitely notice the Thai influence at GB (the food in ADA is for example just warmer, not everything nearly cold), and on average (that's of course just my opinion, somebody else might prefer different tastes) ADA is more tasty. For example the "brownies" in GB are like the 30thb chocolate cake that you can buy in 7/11, just less tasty. The noodle salad at GB is somehow quite sweet, definitely a Thai style noodle salad. Other things that I tried were OK, but in my opinion they are at best equal to ADA, but quite a few dishes are just more tasty in ADA. One exception where GB scores: Frikadellen. They are tasty, not as good as my mom's, but much better than ADA. I still think 190 baht at GB is good value for the money, if ADA wouldn't exist I would probably go there sometimes. But in my opinion ADA offers even much more value for money. Edited May 16, 2022 by FriendlyFarang

Popular Post LomSak27
Auf reopened Tuesday, although yesterday seemed the public reopening. The new location is next to the Chiang Mai Lamphun old road at a three way, a hundred meters south from Rimping, Ping river branch. Some call it the Gymkhana three way. Lunch yesterday had a full house by 1130. Nice 2

Mahseer
Far from Saraphi but excellent location as heaps of traffic and few choices of restaurant aside from the hole in the wall types. 180baht is a steal.

After all, the restaurant is. I can confirm their ST rooms are very nice. I'd happily eat at either restaurant. From the Owner "In front is not possible but when you come from Saraphee after our shop is a parking area for everbody 50 meter at the riverside, When you come from the townside you can park after our shop next to the big trees. In our Soi is only place for 3-4 cars. T think it is better than i Saraphee but you have a 40-50 meter walk.
