The Thai delegation is led by Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Thanee Thongphakdi and Permanent Secretary for Defence Gen Warakiat Rattananont. Their US counterparts are led by Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink, and Assistant Secretary of Defence Ely Ratner. I think Thailand has to get off the fence to do anything that will strengthen ties. USA well understand Thailands stance on all things worldly, and possibly tired of their little games of portraying to be a poor neighbour but wanting to play in the big league.
