In light of ongoing queries over the time it takes and considering its a Saturday thought I'd wallop over some Sterling to top up the account slightly

Royal Bank of Scotland to Wise at which point clicked on the icon "I've sent my money"

Logged into SCB (am guessing 10 seconds or so) and money as always its there instantly. I swear to God I do not know what some of you are doing to get delay after delay

Reason for transfer "sending to family" as always not that it makes the slightest bit of difference what you put as its purely audit control in case of any future financial investigation

Unless you need the transfer to show as an International Transfer for Immigration/Extension purposes. Then you click the long term stay in Thailand, and it usually takes one day extra to get to your Thai bank. So plan ahead.

We've had the same conversation over and over. Its makes not the slightest difference.....As I intend to send a few bob each weekend I will video it in real time and show you next week

And that is where you are WRONG. I did two transfers last week, one with Family reason and the other Long Term Stay. The first was immediate, the second a day later. Try it yourself.

Which is fine if not needed for Immigration. If it is, the Credit Advice Note from SCB will say it was a foreign transfer if it is not shown in Bank Book or statement.

Yeah, but selecting either of those reasons for transfer won't change transfer speed unlike with Bangkok Bank

SCB will not issue credit advice for this transaction as they receive it from an intermediary ( BKB, KBank, Deemony) as a local transfer. For proof of international transfer must obtain credit advice/ receipt from the intermediary involved

A little off-topic but still to do with Wise - but the Wise ATM card use.

In the UK we transferred cash to our Wise account.

My missus when to the ATM in Bangkok to test a withdrawal with the WISE ATM card.

It came up with a transaction charge of 220( she was only withdrawing 100 baht to test ),  is this correct and expected?

Cheers

I'm not going into a debate on this. It's a topic that's been 'done to death' now.

Yet the OP still doesn't get it, although if he changed to BBL (or Kasikorn?) it might eventually sink in.

I use Wise to send from GBP to THB to my Kbank. Always use the "funds for long term stay" option. Usually if in banking hours in UK and TH then it's instant. Occasionally over the last couple of years it would take 1-2 days. As I don't need the FTT certificate I'll try another reason such as "daily living expenses".  Thanks for the tip.

And in the four or so years I have been using Wise transfers to Bkk Bank, and putting the long stay option as I need it to show as a Foreign Transfer (FTT at Bkk Bank), it has NEVER been instant, always 2pm the same day if started before 6am, or 2pm the following day if after that.

Do the banks computers go to sleep outside UK & Thai banking hours?  555

Please don't bother yourself. As you said yourself: 'we've had the same conversation over and over'.

Have a nice day.

So, this could well have been a worthwhile conversation after all. Thanks @Chivas

If I send around 3-6 thousand usd to my Thai Bank Account everyday using Wise. Could this create any problems for myself? I'm not doing anything illegal btw. But I'm just wondering if it might raise some eyebrows.

There's always one clever so and so.

It makes a difference what bank in Thailand you send to and what reason you send for.

And then we have the other clever so and so who butts in right at the very end of the thread and tells us what we already know and have established throughout the conversation.

Wise problem

Sunday 33k baht at approx 5 30 pm delivered in seconds  to my Krungsri  account BUT

MONDAY approx  5 15pm 33k baht sent but Not arrived  in my account.

Why not? Have I broken a 24 hour rule for over 50k?

Sunday used long term stay as reason  for money but not sure I did for  the second tranche on Monday though I meant to..

So tired  of Wise inconsistencies, poor support - rude actually

Is there a better way?

Revolut bank?

Did they show a timeline of it being received by Wise?

It was sent not received  by Wise.

1) check the reference was the same as usual, 2) it may have gone into your UK bank suspense account while they do checks, you won't see that, it leaves your account and disappears.

Sounds like may not be a Wise problem but a UK bank problem

Yeah I know, you sent the money from your UK or farangland bank account?

I see you changed your post, it doesn't make sense, post the timeline screenshot
