DDJJ 11
Hi, I've had a TDL since 2002 as I've always had my required visa & work permit. As mine has expired in July 2021 and I'm currently here on a visa exempt and on my 1st covid extension, are there possible options to get it renew? I don't want to let it expire for more than 12 months and I would really like to get it renew. Thank you.
Popular Post bbko 4356
Why not go to your nearest DLT office, stop at the information desk, show them what you have and ask how to renew? All you'll get here is guesses, as a long time visitor to Thailand, you must know things can vary day-to-day, person-to-person. Good Luck. 3
Popular Post scubascuba3 18336
As expired less than 12 months renewing is easy, just go to your transport office, you'll only be able to get a 2 year licence as you are on a visa exempt. Need residence cert, doctors cert, copy if getting 2 licences. In Pattaya you have to go twice, once to register and book appointment, second go through the usual process Edited May 23 by scubascuba3
richard_smith237 42862
Does your expired work permit have your address in it ? If so, you could chance it that they don’t spot the date. Otherwise you can renew, you’ll need a letter of address (certificate of address) from Immigration or Affirmation of address from Embassy (depending on your nationality). 1

vidgra 69
Your license is still valid 1 full year after expiration. 2

You can only reapply without having to go through the entire process within 1 year of expiration. Your license expires on the date that's printed on it. You're not allowed to drive with it after it expires. 5

I've always done my renewals at the one in Sukhumvit, Bkk. I'll make a trip next week to see what they need as mine is a 5 year licence. Will update when I have the correct info. Thank you everyone for their input.
