Some provinces in the “Green” and “Blue” zones, where the COVID-19 situation has improved satisfactorily, should be the pilot areas for the relaxation of the requirement to wear face masks in public, according to the Department of Disease Control.

Other factors should also be taken into account before the relaxation comes into effect, tentatively in the middle of June, said department specialist Dr. Taweesap Siraprapasiri.

Chief of the Epidemiology Division of the Department of Disease Control Dr. Chakkarat Pittayawonganon, meanwhile, suggested that easing of the face mask requirement should start in selected provinces or areas such as outdoor spaces.

I think they could ease it in from 1st June with masks being required Monday, Wednesday,Friday and alternate Sundays reducing one day a week until mask free around September when they become optional-or not!

Just more ifs, buts and maybes. And how would any tourist, domestic or foreign, know what rules prevail in different provinces/zones?

The less they know, the better. Can fine them for violating rules.

I think we all know it's nothing to do with areas of low infection or good management. It's all about money and which areas are attractive to tourism and any other form of income. Also, they don't want to be seen as 'opening up fully' but try to appear to be doing it in a clever bit-by-bit way.... the Muppets, that they are!
