The Election Commission (EC) has decided to postpone the endorsement of the official result of the Bangkok gubernatorial election until tomorrow (Tuesday), pending an investigation into the unofficial winner Chadchart Sittipunt’s use of vinyl fabric in his campaign posters.

The investigation follows a complaint filed with the EC by political activist Srisuwan Janya, who has questioned whether Chadchart had a hidden agenda when he used vinyl fabric in the making of his posters and whether the fabric has been recycled into bags and aprons. The well-known frequent petitioner also accused Chadchart of “insulting the bureaucratic system”.

The election results are then expected to be announced Tuesday afternoon. Unofficial results appear to show that Chadchart won the capital’s governorship by a landslide.

Surely any further delay and totally fraudulent excuses for ignoring the will of the BKK people will be followed by immense demos all over the city.

Could those in charge of the "bureaucratic system" risk demos of a million or more angry people?
