NY lawmakers pass new gun control law; more senseless shootings in U.S.

Having one state have this or that set of laws and another state another set of different law or next to no laws regarding gun ownership won't do diddly squat on the numbers of folks murdering others in mass shootings or the even more horrendous numbers of suicides by gun in the US.

There needs to be laws like those enacted in other western countries e.g. Federal laws covering the entire nation without State exceptionalism, stringent universal background checks, national red-flag registry, long waiting periods before purchase is allowed, no auto or semi auto weapons, and some sort of national taskforce to do its best to rid the nation of ghost guns, buy-back and amnesty periods rolled out to collect and destroy (as done in Australia post Port Arthur massacre) many of the weapons already sold and held by those known to be mentally ill and unfit to own for other sane and obvious reasons.

But none of this will happen. The obsessional, paranoid, secessionists, seditionist John toxic Waynes types are aplenty as are the parasites making billions upon billions in arms sales to allow any such sanity to take hold.

But while Adams' tough-on-crime position got him elected, Black Lives Matter is vowing to oppose efforts to reduce crime in the city. In fact, it's promising to get violent if undercover crime task forces are reinstated.

So here's an idea - the firearms which existed at the time that was written - can be freely borne.
