The director of the Division of Communicable Diseases has rejected claims that 16.8 million Covid booster shots have been thrown away.

Suggestions were made that the vax was tossed out because up-country hospitals did not have the required refrigeration storage facilities.

Dr Wichan Pawan said that the vax was a quota that the E.O.C. of the Thai Public Health Ministry sent to smaller regional hospitals to ensure that booster shots were made widely available to the people, reported Thai Rath

He refuted the misinformation about its delivery under the plan to supply Tambon Health Promotion hospitals.

He reiterated that everything was being done so that as many people in Thailand could get booster shots as possible to further prevent getting seriously infected from the disease or even dying.

Confusing article, were they discarded or not? and if they were because lack or refrigeration than someone should be responsible and get what he deserves as lack of refrigeration is a stupid reasons to throw away such preaches medicine where a temporary refrigeration solutions are all over the place...

Yes, confusing.

What the doctor "said" and "refuted" and "reiterated" does not specifically address the allegation.

I agree the body of the article is very vague, although the headline seems to indicate that no vaccines were destroyed, very poor reporting.
