Bang Lamung, Chonburi — A foreign driver’s pickup truck overturned early this morning in the Pattaya area.

At 1 a.m. today, June 9th, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center responded to a car accident report on Siam Country Club Rd in the Pong subdistrict, Bang Lamung, Chonburi.

At the accident scene, a grey Ford Ranger pickup truck was found in an upside-down position. A male foreign driver (name and age not provided) was standing beside it with a Good Samaritan who helped him out of the truck.

Looks like a genyoowine Ranger Raptor as well. You know, the expensive one with the superior suspension and 4 x 4, off-road holding capabilities.

I bet his old lady is p*ssed off.

Throw the book at him.  You'd have to try really hard and at speed to overturn one of those vehicles.

It's an insurance job.

The owner is fed up with the poor performance from his Ranger Rapter, 4 cylinder.

He wants a new Ranger Rapter V6, it's a nice truck, puts out around 400HP.

But one thing, we must give him points for. It´s one of the best ever single accident total damage made to your own car. ????

Seriously good driving! After that, also manage to stand by the side without any broken bones or inner bleeding. That´s amazing!

The guy should be given a medal.

A lot of people seem to think that - until it happens to them. Pick ups are notorious for tipping over in accidents, especially when they're driven into a ditch!

He probably swerved to avoid a Deer that ran out in front of him.

These Raptors are the most stupid trucks on the roads in thailand.

I'd expectnont more than about 1% ever to leave tarmac - retarded.

Agree, too big for Pattaya roads.

Most of the owners put huge wheels on which makes the truck much wider.

It would be great in Australia.

I think the Raptors are cool trucks.

Well done to the local lad who assisted. Null points to the knob-head driver who woke him up !

Trying to decipher the photo? Looks like he's run into something parked at a pretty decent clip. Or what else is that object his front end is entangled with?

An elephant/water monitor lizard/ghost crossed the road in front of him.

...particularly foreigners who are well known to be the best possible people behind the wheel, possessing supreme driving ability (according to Thaivisa "experts").

possibly overturning a stable four wheeler vehicle may be a common occurrence for you, but most people manage to go through their driving lives managing not to overturn the vehicle they are driving...

"early this morning"

That's all you had to read to know exactly what happened. I could practically smell stale beer from the photo.

And they are also built to lower accident protection levels than "ordinary" cars?:

"In vehicle tests for safety and crashworthiness, trucks routinely get lower scores than SUVs and cars. Not one of the top five ranked pickups in 2019 ranked by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety received top marks across the board in safety, something that was accomplished by all of the top-ranked SUVs and cars.

Furthermore, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, most vehicle collision fatalities occur in rollover crashes, and pickup trucks are three times more likely to roll over than other SUVs or cars."
