True Phones & Internet Not Working Around Suk 50

Featured Replies

Hello all living around Sukhumvit 50.

According to what I just understand from the "customer service" of True, a big underground cable in Suk 50 is broken and will hopefully repairing will start tonight after 10:00 PM.

Nobody will have phone and/or internet until tomorrow morning and maybe even the day after if they are not able to fix it all tonight.

Apparently this was caused "by accident by a TOT worker". Yeah right....we believe that one!

True did not do anything since 8:00 AM this morning (when I reported the default) as "traffic is busy in Suk 50"....leaves them clueless of course as always.

Welcome to telecommunications in Thailand.....

Update: Last night I drove by around 8:00 PM and many TOT people working on the sidewalks around the expressway entrance in Suk 50, although True told me they would only be able to start around 10:00 PM. Bullshitting...

This morning still no phone/internet. Drove by the site around 8:00 AM and nobody working there.... Called True again, they told me it will be fixed tomorrow around 12:00 noon!

I asked them why and got no answer, other then they say they have to do this at night as the problem is under the road and they can not block traffic.... That was also incorrect as they were clearly digging at the sidewalk.

I bet that if this would happen in front of Government House or the True building it would be fixed in hours. Unfortunately I can only get a True line, as TOT is not available in our area.
