Its a ceremony only and not a legally binding marriage , he is legally married to his wife in the uk .

By the way for your info that old BS story of " the wife back home won't give me a diviorce" is a story a lot of EU  boyfirinds give to their  Thai GF's.  Some are not even married back in their home countries but simply use that as an excuse  that they can't marry.  They just don't  want to commit to a legal/binding wedding to the Thai girl.
