webfact Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn Hospital is now banning visits to patients in all wards, as a precautionary measure following a new surge in new COVID-19 infections. According to the hospital, only one person is allowed to tend to each patient and they must comply with the screening measures required by the hospital. All medical staff working on the wards are required to wear face masks at all times. loong Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 What surge? I don't see any surge in the reported daily cases. 2 - 2.5 K Maybe the hospital has access to a different set of figures? 1 2 1
Tropicalevo Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Strange story. Numbers this morning dropped below 2,000 Covid cases nationwide. Only 1,609 positive ATK/RAT results as well. A negative surge perhaps? 1 1

Maybe they use stats like number of beds occupied, reasons for hospitalization... real people in real hospitals I say that not to knock you, but numbers from the government here are always highly suspect 2

natway09 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 This "visitors" in hospital policy needs overhauling anyway. Far too many relatives wandering around public areas & wards like it is a carnival. The private hospitals "extra bed" allowing a wife, boyfriend etc to stay overnight I am not sure is a good idea either. Sometimes when not feeling "top of the world" good to have time to ones self

My reply was meant to be "tongue in cheek". I meant that the official figures do not indicate any surge (ie official figures are probably false) and that the hospital has access to more reliable and accurate figures than the government is releasing.
