BADUNG - Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police Team, Bali, arrested a Brazilian student with the initials ASG (25).

This Brazilian citizen was arrested for carrying narcotics weighing 2.8 grams when he arrived on the Island  through Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, on Tuesday, June 28.

"He was arrested because he was caught carrying four plastic clips containing marijuana type narcotics", said Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit at the Airport Police I Gusti Ngurah Rai AKP I Kadek Darmawan, Monday, July 4.

The perpetrator used the Air Asia Kuala Lumpur-Bali airline. When passing the X-ray, Ngurah Rai Airport officers suspected the perpetrator's belongings.

When checked, they found 4 white plastic clip packaging that read "Supermao" which contained marijuana.

I'm assuming he didn't know the law or forgot that they were in his possession.

Anyone know what the penalty is likely to be?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_in_Indonesia

Cannabis in Indonesia is illegal. Cannabis plants, all plants of the Cannabis genus and all parts of plants including seeds, fruit, straw, and processed cannabis plants or parts of cannabis plants including marijuana resin and hash are categorized as narcotics group. Drug offenders are subject to a minimum sentence of four years in prison (additional fines may apply) if caught possessing it. Derivatives of medical and recreational cannabis (such as hemp, CBD, tetrahydrocannabinol, hashish, and edibles) are also illegal.[1]

Indonesia.

That's where they tie you to a post, put a target over your heart and shoot you to death after keeping you in a prison cell for ten years while you beg for mercy.

Thailand is now a confirmed 'Narcotics Hub' status as people from all over the world descend on Thailand to purchase their drugs and export them to the rest of the world it seems. I blame Long Covid-19 for the foggy thinking on this one.

Violent matricide vs a couple of spliffs in your bag. Equivalent in seriousness?? I think not. Grow up Indonesia.

I'm guessing there'll be a gofundme page for him in the near future.

They already have "Land of smiles" banner in the airport.

Another banner could be "Not Bali (anymore)"

Looks around 21 plus or minus, and is carrying drugs.   Old enough to do a quick google search.  No way he thinks weed can go to every country on the planet.   If that dumb, he wouldn't find the airport.

He created this nightmare....... you can't shoot people and then say, "nightmare scenario."

Now, when people put drugs in your bags................then that's a nightmare.

They've put notices up on the southern border crossings, and at the airport, warning people not to take any weed with them. It's upto 10 years in prison for possession in both Malaysian and Singapore and the death penalty for trafficking (>200g Malaysia, >500g Singapore).
