Not using your indicators, or refusing to switch on headlights at night is another great way to save fuel.

  • Still no idea of the price of fuel in Thailand and been here a long time. Just buy 1000 baht normally, sometimes 500 baht, never noticed the price as I need fuel to get around.

Yes. An NGV fill-up is a place to meet your taxi driver mates for a sandwich and a natter while you wait.

With the global rise in fuel costs, all of us are thinking twice before taking the car for a long journey.

Long journeys can be quite economical, I think it would be wise to consider more walking the very short journeys, 100m to 7/11 etc.

I believe about 55 mph is best, so that is the speed I drive everywhere and don't bother stopping at lights or junctions now.

Stop driving like an idiot would be a good start.

Is that a 4.54 litre gallon, or a 3.78 liter gallon ?

For a number of years after buying my 3.0 litre Hilux Vigo I kept a check on fuel consumption and it averaged out over a five or so year period of 34.97 mpg and these were real 4.54 litre gallons not the budget US variety.
