Do you believe most Humans are Good in Nature? Or, just Naked Apes? Sort of like Bonobos, but sexier?

My Dearest Primates,

 

First, of course: "Here's tae us, wha's like us? Gey few and they're a' deid!"

 

I have read a lot, and I listen to mass media a lot. Sometimes, the question arises:

 

If you were an unbiased god, up in the sky, perhaps on Olympus, and you needed to make a quick decision between any given primate, concerning which primate would rule the Earth, then which primate would you choose to be top dog?

 

Would you choose a lemur?

Would you choose a snow monkey from Japan?

Maybe a Stump-Tailed Macaque?

 

As they say in Pattaya, “It ups to you”.

And, in Pattaya, the girls know primates, most intimately.

 

But this is not the question of this topic, really.

 

What is your view of humankind?

 

Are we humans kind?

 

If you were suffering, would your fellow humans suffer with you?

 

How do you see your fellows, basically and fundamentally?

 

I could start a poll here in which I were attempting to separate out whether or not readers see their fellows as mostly benign or mostly malignant beasts with few redeeming qualities.

 

Here is what I believe:

 

I believe that most of us are kinder than we admit to being.

I believe that we are hail-fellows-well-met, and caring.

I believe that, when the chips are down, our fellow primates,

Come out of the woodwork to help.

 

So, the question is, are most people extremely kind?

Or,

Are most people just Machiavelian schemers out to do you in?

 

In my opinion, if one were to believe in the depravity of man, even if there is no god, then life would not be worth living.

 

So, other than in Pattaya….

 

Do you believe your fellows whom you know are out to get you?

 

Or, are most of the strangers you meet in your life always willing to help, when you need help?

 

I believe that my fellows are out to help me, or anyone else, anytime anyone needs help.

 

And yet, I also believe that my fellow primates are willing to put me to death, at the drop of a hat, just for minor ideological irregularities.

 

Primates are beings with complex brains.

 

There is no telling what they might do next.

 

Do you believe that a reasonable god could have created an animal such as a bonobo or any other similar great apes?

 

Surely, somewhere out in the universe, if we just look far enough into the distant past,  maybe 13.7 billion lightyears into the past, using our technology, we might find what we are looking for.

 

I am an old primate.

I am very thankful to have lived this long.

I have lived long enough to see the final epitome of our cultural evolution,

From palm prints on cave walls, 45 thousand years ago,

To the Webb telescope now one million miles above the sky.

 

Just at the moment of our greatest achievement,

We are now at greatest risk of reaching utter futility.

We are just about to cash it all in,..

Just for some worthless, final, and pitiful,

Conspicuous consumption,

Meaning nothing.

 

Logic has no meaning for us now.

Science has no real impact upon us, as well.

We have relinquished the Scientific Method.

In its place, we choose the seductive fruits of technology.

Beware the Apple, my friends.

Take no bite of the Apple, please.

 

What means most to us, “really”?

 

Of course, for the masses, it must be the Pattaya rush!

 

What is the Pattaya rush?

 

The Pattaya rush is what happens when you get to a bar, and you see the women with short-short skirts, covering almost nothing, and then all logic flies out the window.  But, in Guangdong, the skirts are even shorter.

 

What I am saying, my friends,

Is that the majority of people you meet  are Good People.

Kind and Considerate.

 

Yet, when the masses are not given any direction,

Then, sometimes, the stick hits the fan.

The blades become warped,

And the fan begins to fly.

 

TOPIC QUESTION:  

 

Are people basically good?

Are people, mostly, just out to get you?

Have you ever met a stranger who would sacrifice his/her life for you?

Have you ever made love to a stranger on Tinder?

Or, have we become 21st Century Schizoid Man?

 

It ups to you, Man.

 

Can you stand to be a member of Homo sapiens?

Or, would you rather return to the good old days of Homo habilis,

Still handsome, but less stressed by today’s alienating technologically based culture.

 

I have seen some Pattaya girls.

I have seen some GuangDong girls.

Not to mention, the ShenZhen girls, 

And I think most of these girls,

Are all the same.

 

They all have the same thing.

Which is to say,

Some lack of education.

I cannot pinpoint it.

But, trying to compensate for dim wittedness,

Through shortening of one’s skirt,

Just makes no sense,

In the long run.

 

Most of these girls would give you the shirt off their backs.

This is just the way they are.

They grew up in families with good morals,

Families,  part of some small farming community,

And a community which was based on communal caring.

 

Then, these girls became immersed in some alien environment.

A community with a total lack of community.

And then, for whatever reason, the girls began not just “lying flat”,

But lying on their backs.

 

It must be hard, these days,

To separate the wheat from the chaff.

 

It must be hard for parents, these days,

To raise children,

In this age of complete uncertainty.

 

98 percent of people are good.

I do believe.

 

What do you believe?

 

I believe that..

HENDRIX is still amazing.

Even in this day and age.

What about you, Man?

 

I also believe that Jeff Beck can play Hendrix,

Better than Hendrix,

Anytime he wants to.

Note: Although I would have wished to edit the above, more lucidly, I am running out of time, being older than you.

 

Note2:  I have heard Beck play Hendrix.  And, Beck is better.  Although, Hendrix was first, and Beck was just lauding Hendrix, for the heck of it.  No doubt, Beck has no doubt that Hendrix is still the greatest...  But, I think Beck is wrong.  I think Beck might be the greatest.

 

Also, I think that Beck is a nicer person than Hendrix.

Hendrix sounds like he comes from Harlem.

And Beck comes from Surrey.

You can't compare the two, really.

A bit of both.  Every being acts in their own interest.  If humans are "good" it is because this "goodness" serves them in some way, even if it is simply the prevention of feeling bad.

 

We aren't really that different to Bonobos.  Sadly, we are not even sexier than them.

 

The big difference we have is language.

I foresee a universal societal turn to a full-on matriarchal/matrilineal existence.......as such is practiced within the more advanced and connected traditional cultures.
