Where is this Costa del Lotta which is such a Remainer stronghold?

Alternatively, maybe those socialists do love their country and believe that Brexit is damaging it.

If only someone could point out the benefits of Brexit ?

........or French customs officials..............????.

Pointing out the benefits is regarded as being off -topic , so its not possible to state them

That's convenient, eh????? Hopefully, there will be an opportunity for us non-believers to be enlightened soon????????

Maybe Brexit could have been built quicker if the UK hadn't got rid of all the Polish brickies and plumbers?????

But the U.K didn't get rid of anyone , the Polish Brickie's and Plumbers were given right to remain in the UK visas .

E.U Citizens already living in the U.K were given Visas allowing them to stay indefinitely .

Its completely untrue that anyone got "kicked out"

My mistake. I should have been more precise and wrote,  'Made it more difficult for non-UK nationals to remain'.

I'm a little surprised that you replied to this particular post given that your dislike of going "off topic".

Yes, all they had to do was go online and register to get the long term visas .

Over six million E.U Nationals managed to register for long term U.K visas prior to Brexit

I humbly request the mods or whoever is in charge of topics in World News, to post a news story extolling the benefits of Brexit to balance the constant negative news we have been subject to since 2016.

I second that proposal! ????

Not true. There was a lot of stress felt over the Settled Status scheme.

https://news.sky.com/story/first-dates-star-fred-sirieix-ive-been-made-to-feel-like-a-second-class-citizen-11801072

What bit wasnt true ?

In the link that you provided , it states

The link that you provided backs up what I said

"Mr Sirieix had, in fact, already been given indefinite leave to remain and did not need to apply for the settlement scheme."

6 million of them.
Nothing special about their work, but they accept poorer living conditions to save money. What is left after a few street drinking sessions gets sent home to build the biggest house in the village.

That's what the HO stated after their blunder was revealed.

Not sure why you stopped reading after that:

Quote

A Home Office spokesperson said: "We have contacted Mr Sirieix about his application and he has now been granted settled status."

So why did they give him settled status if he "did not need to apply"?

It was stressful for many.

No, your figures were not the complete figures .

Here are the complete figures .

Your figures are from June 2021

What an ignorant post.

Do you imagine that the only Europeans living in the U.K take part in manual labour.

How do you know about the working standards of millions of people? Poorer living conditions? Tell us about them.

So sad that you make such a poor case for yourself.

A bit of stress? Visa application processing usually is for anybody anywhere.
So many rushed to get their applications in to enjoy life in post-Brexit Britain that it can’t have been too stressful. They must see more benefits of Brexit than the average Remainer.
Maybe we should have given them the vote then the referendum margin would have been 6 million more for Leave.

All true. Visible in many cities in the UK, which is one reason why the referendum didn’t turn out as the elites expected.

How would you know any better, preaching from a lofty perch in the EU or Thailand?

No, it shows that you have an inability to comprehend what you are reading. Those are applications received, not people who have been given a 'long term visa'. The other figures(other than Settled and Pre-settled) are for Refused, Withdrawn/Void and Invalid.

Settlement and Pre settlement visas ARE long term visas , it gives people the right to remain in the U.K indefinitely .

Pre settlement visas are visas given to people prior to getting a settlement visa .

6.4 million  applications  for long term visas were made and 6.1 Million visas were granted

The referendum went that way not because of what appeared like uncontrolled migration(Syrians etc at that point because of yet another war) and the lies perpetrated by the usual suspects.

But it seems yourself and mick are struggling to point out any positive effect of Brexit beyond the migration issue and even with that....is it any less than it was?

Nope, there is no visa. You are just making it up as you go along. The figures to March 2022 do not show six million given pre-settled and settled status. Are you unable to comprehend what you are reading? I explained it earlier.

While we're off-topic we might as well discuss those Brexit benefits!

No, lets get back on topic , or now that the French immigration has gone back to work and their technical glitch has been sorted out , and there's no more delays at Dover , there's no reason to continue with this thread .

Although we could ask the question about how Brexit caused a two delay at Dover after the Brexit rules had been in place for two and a half years already ?

EU nationals did not have to apply for settled status before the referendum, therefore would you agree that it was easier for EU nationals to live in the UK pre-referendum than post?
