Clearly, you need to read the report again.  He stopped, assisted her by calling rescue services and waited there until they were able to attend to her as shown by the photo in the OP.

With all due respects I said he continued his journey . I never said immediately as you are implying.

You think it is ok to continue with out authorization after a fatality involving the vehicle he was passenger in?

Why is it that those article writers are compelled to mention the type of car that was involved in the accident? like those who drive MB and get involved in traffic accident are worse than those who drives Toyotas? poor MB, getting bad wrap just because they're politician's favorite car's brand...

It's called a news report, rather like a plane crash the type of aircraft is mentioned or has that escaped your attention.

How low can you get?  He didn't fail to stop after the accident, neither was it wasn't reported that she was using a crossing.  He called for assistance and waited (see the photo of him at the scene with the rescue service helping her?).

Luckily for me and most others on this forum I can't and won't ever get as low as Mr. Pedantic.

Tells you much about the mentality of the elite in Thailand

My wife, who was/is an Isan farmer has convinced me of the simplicity of the Thai system.   Kill someone and if you can agree on the compensation with their family, which compensation is so meager, then all is well.  The parties go on with life without bothering the police or the courts.   I love and live in Thailand.

My comment wasn't pedanticism, it was accuracy.  Every single one of your "observations" were just plain wrong in that post.

How do you know that he was not "authorised" to continue his journey?  What authorisation is needed?

It's not the passengers responsibility to remain there at all!

It wasn't a fatality at the scene, it was injury.

If he was authorized then that would be unethical if not illegal

"Unethical" is a subjective opinion, he (the passenger) was there while the medics were arranging to take her to hospital.    What was the "if not illegal" part?

Then you need statements from witnesses.

Useful, maybe, but not required.

Didn't look as though the police were there so who'd take those (not-required) witness statements and were there any witnesses?

You didn't say which was the "illegal" part.

Why are you so confused ?You portray yourself as a back street lawyer for heaven's sake

I'm confused by your claim that "witness statements were "required".   They're not "required".  But perhaps the insurers rep would do that as there were no police to be seen in the photos or mentioned in the OP or link.

Sorry to upset you by being correct.   I have not portrayed myself a lawyer at all but maybe I am a lawyer, "for heaven's sake" [sic], you clearly aren't.

He didn't "leave the scene", as you put it, as in "fled the scene", he left after he knew that she was being cared for by medics.  He was a passenger, not the driver, there is no compulsion for passengers to remain there.

The passenger was leaving the scene of a accident illegally.

Period

Because there's a strong connection between arrogance and the type of car you drive here

What could possibly be more important?

Aiding someone hit by a car you are in? Or attending a meeting?

In all fairness, the photo shows him their while the medics are attending to her. He more than likely went to the airport after they took her to the hospital and his driver went back to check on her.

Why they were allowed to carry on travelling in the vehicle without the police doing their investigation bothers me more, i.e. unless they did their due diligence, which I doubt very much, MP......VIP.....probably even gave him an escort to the airport.

Life's cheap her in the LOS

Says who?   If the taxi I'm in, fo example, collides with another vehicle do you think that I cannot leave the scene?

By the way, writing "Period" after a comment doesn't make it correct!

If someone is injured then you remain at the scene of the accident even if you are a passenger in a taxi as you have become a material witness

The speed quoted is irrelevant to the precise circumstances of that prevailing situation.

Driving inappropriately at any speed could be hard luck for somebody!

One could easily be killed from a 30kph speed!!

She was hit by a Mercedes Benz being driven by an employee of party list MP Khathathep Techadechreuangkul who was also in the vehicle.

When rich people commit crimes, they are described in the passive voice.  When poor people do it, they dredge up every dark part of their life in public and accuse them directly.  Dear Mr. MP, a human life is more important than your flight.  Please resign.

remember where you are, life is cheap in Thailand and can easily be bought off.  terrible excuse from a terrible human being.  it's like " i drive a Benz so F you"  here.

Life is cheap in Thailand?

Relative I would say to the economy of the country .

A individual who is involved in a accident could end up in deep trouble depending on what car they drive .
