Private Sector Expects Rising Inflation in 2nd Half This Year

BANGKOK, Aug 3 (TNA) – The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB) said inflation would rise in the second half of this year and maintained its prediction for the Thai economic growth with a 2.75-3.5% rate this year.

 

The committee stated that the economy would face more pressure from the rising inflation. It said inflation ran at 5.6% in the first half of this year, much higher than its normal level at 1-3%.

Who really believes that the current Inflation Rate is 5.6 %, its more likely to be closer to 10 %.

With another 18 % increase in all Electric costs, after the already 7 % increase in May, to both Industrial and Private users planned in September, the Inflation rate is going to really kick off again towards the end of the Year, as this will affect everything from Toilet Roll manufacture to Steel and Auto Manufacture, as well as all food items

Thailand is going to be lucky if they escape stagflation, as there already appears to be a slowdown in the Factories around my location

My monthly outgoings have risen a lot more than that.
