Reconfirmation of the diagnosis, from the Medical Sciences Department and the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, is pending. Dr. Kusak said that the patient did not have any connection with the first confirmed case, a Nigerian man, who had stayed in Phuket since last October and went to Cambodia late last month having refused treatment in Thailand. webfact Posted August 3, 2022 Author Share Posted August 3, 2022 Thailand reports third confirmed Monkeypox case who is a German tourist in Phuket By Nop Meechukhun National – Thailand on Wednesday, August 3rd, reported the third confirmed case of Monkeypox which is a German tourist who was expected to have carried the disease from abroad. Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong, Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, revealed to the Associated Press this morning that the latest patient was a 25-year-old German national who arrived in Phuket on July 18th. His preliminary results of the disease investigation were believed to have been infected before entering Thailand. The Public Health Ministry is currently in the process of monitoring close contacts and creating a detailed timeline for disease investigation. “The third patient had a fever, swollen lymph nodes, and rashes around the genital area. It shows that as of 1 August 2022, there are 2,672 confirmed and 87 highly probable monkeypox cases in the UK: 2,759 in total. Of these, 2,638 are in England.
