Biden signs Inflation Reduction Act into law

One only has to read the contents of the bill and have a fundamental knowledge of economics to realize the bill won't reduce inflation.

It is certainly not "one of the most significant laws in our history" as Biden is claiming. Surely he knows that is a ridiculous statement, so why say it? He couldn't be telling porkies again could he? (see claims of being arrested while visiting Mandela, claims of being a tractor trailer driver for other examples...)

The bill has a lot more content than inflation, its a milestone achievement for the climate along with many other projects. As for inflation I'm so happy to hear you are an expert to be able to know.

Republicans are concerned about the policy of spending/printing huge amounts of money we don't have to reduce inflation, which was caused by too much money chasing too few goods. I think their concern

  • Strange, they weren't concerned about that at all during the Trump presidency. But now it's a real investment in stead of a giveaway they're concerned?

This is not yet another Trump rant thread so no comment about your first unsubstantiated assertion. But IMO this looks more like a boondoggle than a "real investment". Spending any $ trying to change

I see you calling out Trump for his manners and behavior, but not for his dishonesty. And certainly not for his stance on issues. I see you calling people who criticize Trump "radical leftists" and "antifa types" without citing any evidence. apart from their opposition to Trump, to justify such characterizations. The only person you may possibly be fooling here is yourself and hardline Trump supporters.

Trump is sometimes dishonest. As is Biden (see my previous post for examples).

Please bookmark/screenshot this post for future reference as like Biden, you seem to also suffer from periods of memory loss.

Please stop insulting our intelligence. If you have specifics to explain about how the bill will not reduce inflation rather than your opinion backed up by a high opinion of yourself then go ahead. And stay on topic.

Your superiority complex is earning yourself a lot of ridicule here.

"sometimes" is a word that says nothing about frequency.

Yes a milestone achievement is more that doubling the number of IRS agents. Soon everyone due a refund and with non standard employment income will have to undergo an audit.

Provided they earn annually more than $400,000

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm not here to impress hardcore partisan, Trump obsessed leftists ????.

It's really noticeable how the right wingers/Republicans have no issue when I criticize Trump, but the lefties/Dems get massively butthurt and attack en masse in an attempt to shut me up whenever I highlight Biden's obvious failings. Very amusing. Very telling...

We don't care about Trump, we want you to put up links and an argument instead of just gratuitously insulting lefties. You are treading a fine line in regard to flaming and contributing nothing of value.

Really comparing day and night. Biden's failures are not criminal misconduct, malevolent as regards to policies and he govern more than campaigning.

...or that he was appointed to the US Naval Academy. In fact he got 5 deferments for military service (same as Trump) to avoid going to Vietnam.

...or that he graduated in the top half of his law school class. He was actually ranked 76th out of 85.

...or that you won(t get Covid if you get vaccinated.

...or that this bill will reduce inflation.

Well, as noted earlier the bill has changed thanks to the last minute squeeze play by Kyrsten Sinema to help hedge fund managers keep on enjoying their tax privileges.  So deficit reduction was lessened. Here are some comments from economist who explain how it can have an effect on inflation. Or maybe they need your help in correcting their understanding?

As for it "being one of the most significant laws in our history", I don't think the scientific community has a problem with that statement

Biden Signs Historic Climate Bill as Scientists Applaud

Climate scientists are excited for the billions of dollars the Inflation Reduction Act will pour into fighting climate change but urge further action

Several US agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Department of Energy (DOE), will see a significant influx of cash from a massive climate and tax bill that US President Joe Biden signed on 16 August. Scientists around the world welcome the legislation, called the Inflation Reduction Act, which pledges US$369 billion in climate investments over the next decade — while acknowledging that more work is needed to counter global warming.

Experts: Senate-passed bill will yield myriad climate benefits

The U.S. Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act by a single vote on Sunday, August 7.

The bill, headed to the House of Representatives within days, includes by far the largest and most consequential measures to reduce domestic climate pollution in the nation’s history, with a $386 billion clean energy investment, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Based on analyses by several energy modeling groups, it would reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by close to one-billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in the year 2030, significantly narrowing the gap between the U.S.’s current path and its Paris Climate Agreement commitment.
