No need to worry. They will be well taken care of using money that pensioners worked all their life for. Maybe those that are facing £4000 a year power bills can spare something for the mainly young fit men who come over the channel in their little boats.

Illegal immigrants, most with no right to even claim asylum being from safe countries escorted in by the RNLI ???? If I wanted the Mrs to settle over there I would have to be earning a lot more than a pension and the visa and settlement process would cost thousands. Maybe she could get on one of these boats and call herself an Albanian?

As far as I am concerned every one of them should be sent back to the coast on the other side.

How does that work? Who would take them back?

Perhaps their former colonial master after leaving them impoverished.

I meant, who would transport them back across the Channel?

Lift them out their rubber boats and then take them straight back and drop them off.

Yes, I understand that, but who would be transporting them?

We still have a navy let them do it. This is what the Thai Navy have done in the past- tow them back out to sea and they stopped coming. Put them up in Hotels and give them 40 quid a week and they will not.

It isn't that simple. Halfway across the Channel, our Navy would be in French territorial waters, which means an incursion on French territory, a.k.a an act of war if not invited in by the French. You can't do that.

Tow them halfway then.

Usually legal aids are from non profit organization that specialized in immigrant laws.

And back to the UK they come, unless you are advocating machine gunning them all to death.

Complex problems do not beget simple solutions, that's why we are where we are.

Does that include illegal immigrants who choose to ignore the laws and rules on immigration and arrive in uk to effectively scam the system?

How can one legally set foot on UK soil to request asylum?

How can one request asylum in the UK outside of the UK?

Dont the rules say they should apply for asylum in the first available country they arrive in?

Anyway in real terms they are economic immigrants, read from that, only want what they can get for nothing.

These folk are not coming from a war torn state, they are coming for the yellow brick road they have been told about by those already there.

They are paying crooks to get them across the channel to mainly disappear ,or milk the system.

Are you British and supporting them.........?

Were those irregular immigrants given a chance to be granted legal status. They are escaping poverty and seeking a living. Doubt they know enough to risk life and death to scam.

Do these rules state that they have to apply for asylum FOR that first safe country or WHILE IN that first safe country?

So if they are in Turkey, say, but have family / connections in the UK, how can they apply for UK asylum while in Turkey?

Proton, you missed a zero out, it is closer to 400 quid a week.
