sjbrownderby
I am considering a trip to Savannakhet to apply for a 1-year Non O Multi entry visa based on marriage. This is the type of visa I had before Covid restrictions shut everything down. Does anyone have recent experience of this type of visa in Savannakhet? And, do you know of any changes in the application process from the pre-covid period?
BritTim
There have been several recent threads to the effect that the situation in Savannakhet remains as it was pre Covid.
Popular Post AgMech Cowboy
Yes, the one year multi is available. I returned home yesterday from obtaining mine on Tuesday. I have plans to write a trip report, but need a day or two to recover. I drive to and from Pathum Thani. It's a 'ruff' trip, especially from Saraburi to BKK after a long previous 5-6 hours. (I spend the night in Yasothon and drive back from there). What you will need is in ubonjoe's message below (and that's all I gave them). The cost is 5k baht. FROM ubonjoe: There have been reports of Savannakhet issuing multiple entry non-o visas. Requirements are here. https://savannakhet.thaiembassy.org/th/publicservice/non-immigrant-visa-o-visiting-family-member-of-a-thai-nationality-a-sp?page=5d84a44c15e39c26b400453e&menu=5d84a44c15e39c26b400453f 3
JeffersLos
That's a lot of time and hassle when you could just get a <30,000thb agent due to not having enough funds.

I find getting an extension a lot of hassle and hate dealing with the immigration bureaucracy. However many of the main roads around Yaso are or have been dualled and many sections have lighting so things are improving especially when compared to 10 years ago when I first came here to Yaso. I have more than ample dosh and if I was married I would be using non O ME as I (pre covid) loved monthly trips to Saigon. For some the non O ME is a perfect option. Also it's a stretch to assume "no funds" for many it's as simple as not wanting deal with Thai immigration offices.

Given that the multi entry visa costs 5k, then all the traveling, hotels, and the border runs every 90 days - will the borders be shut again within the next 12 months? 26 minutes ago, DrJack54 said: must be his preferred option Replace preferred with only? The OP, would not have a non O marriage. Provide agent name to obtain non O marriage along with 12 month extension for under 30k. Dreamworld. Mind you all irrelevant as the OP has not indicated notion of using agent. Edited September 3, 2022 by DrJack54
