Moggie "Mootha" finally goes home after 800 kilometer odyssey!

The page of the outer ring road highway police in the Bangkok area reported that a missing cat has finally been reunited with its owner.

 

An appeal for the owner to come forward was made at the end of last month after Mootha was found wandering the expressway.

Now the owner has flown to Bangkok from Hat Yai in the far south of Thailand to claim her pet that had been AWOL for a month.

 

The highway police - promoting their helpful service on 1543 - had posted a charming picture of the cat under an umbrella sheltering from the rain.

The owner had been looking for it everywhere and was alerted by cat lovers about the post.

 

How the animal made the journey - Songkhla is around 800 kilometers away from the Thai capital - was not explained in the INN story.

Happy reunion for woman whose cat had been missing for a month
 

 

There has been a rare and happy reunion between a cat and its owner, after the feline went missing from home in Hat Yai district in the southern province of Songkhla about a month ago.

 

Last week the animal was found wandering along an expressway in Bangkok by a Good Samaritan and has now been returned safely to the owner.

 

The story of the cat, named “Moo Tha”, was posted on the Si Rat-Outer Ring Road Expressway webpage. When the owner, Jiratsabok Pitiphipat, learned that her cat had been found, she immediately flew from Hat Yai to Bangkok to claim it and brought it home by train on Sunday.

I guess the mystery of just how this moggin covered such a huge distance will never be known. Anyway, good to have a good news story amidst all the gloom.
