With Lloyds if I try to set up a new payee I have to take a call on a registered number and then input a code that appears on my screen.

 

No idea about UK phone bank apps however.

i use 3 UK bank apps and i only use my fingerprint to login, if i set up a new payee i get an OTP. I reckon if i changed device that's when security steps up and OTPs are required. A building society has a bot call me when I'm doing a transfer, annoying 

I`m reluctant to do anything important on my mobile phone . I prefer to a laptop computer which has anti-virus software for banking and most e-mails . Some of the apps that are available for download to your phone contain info stealing viruses , so not worth the risk .

I am using Virtual CC Cards  whenever I need to buy something online.

 

After I have paid for something the card gets "Frozen", which means it can't be used to pay for anything, BUT it still can receive re-funds in case the order fails.

 

After the stuff I have ordered has been delivered, I delete the Card

 

^ rinse and repeat for any subsequent orders!

 

Ps: Phone can only be accessed with a 6 digit PIN or Face-ID!. banking apps as well (but different 6 digit PIN)

I like the idea of freezing the card but deleting the card seems a bit excessive

Better be safe then sorry and It's just a Virtual Card, it's just 2 clicks

 

- Delete Card

- Create New Virtual Card

 

The only things that change are

- Card Number

- CVV Code (Code on the back of the Credit Card)

- Expiration Date

exactly, my browser is much more secure than the phone, and my computer is much more difficult to steal (or simply lose) than the phone.

unfortunately the common public prefers (illusory) comfort over security.

which Thai bank allows an instant creation of the virtual card?
