Think about it...

Yes, that was the first thing I thought when I read it.

But these are Edicts for cops, not for the public.

  • The cops I met always have a short haircut and also talk politely to me, does not change the fact I have to bribe them though.

  • Are this the most pressing issues they're impressing on their policemen? is everything ells hunky dory that now left only the appearance of the policemen? someone got their priorities in a twist...

  • Another fancyful idea that will never be implemented or enforced like so many others here....these folk live in a dreamworld.

No police officer in that photo has a "skinhead" haircut.

They have what was known in my day as 'short, back and sides'. In my military days there was a saying by an NCO  'what's under your hat is yours. The rest is mine.'

Edict #1 was to provide enough rainwear to the men.

"Ahem, can we use plastic bags?"

No, all the available plastic bags are used for interrogation purposes ????

They can do one out of the 3 . And it will cost them about 100 baht.

"Cops were told to smarten themselves up, get an appropriate haircut; station chiefs were ordered to make sure that standards were being met EACH AND EVERY DAY."

Why stop there? What about all the fat bellies? Overweight cops should be put on inactive duty until they lose weight.

1. Ensure corrupt practices are rooted out, including conflicts of interest like owning/running bars and nightclubs.

2.Ensure calls for assistance are promptly answered, including those by telephone.
3. Ensure investigations of crimes, including those committed by so-called important persons, are promptly and effectively carried out and arrests and prosecutions follow as appropriate.

4. Ensure safety related activities to prevent loss of life such as road safety patrols, checks of vehicles and drivers/riders, patrols of swimming places, and crime prevention including school visits and patrols are carried out.

Oh, and get your hair cut!

and slim down. ????

Was there any mention of them enforcing the law? A novel idea I know, but a little more important than having the right haircut and enough to eat.

Next thing you know, he’s going to ask them to start enforcing traffic laws or something.

Slippery slope.

another crack down that will last a few weeks and then fade away....

All kidding aside, it is important to look professional when you are demanding a bribe or torturing a suspect.  Otherwise, no one will take you seriously.

I mean, this is just common sense in improving efficiency.

They come in all sorts or sizes the police.I know if they soldiers the commander tells them  about short hair, get a haircut, plus they have to be fit.like any soldier  in the world.Be interesting to see how the police sort this one out

Thats not a skinhead. Similar to the old high and tight.

If a rich red bull boss type runs down and kills a fellow cop while high on coke and speeding do NOT say a word to your superiors or ask how the hell that can happen.

It was clear these were fine examples of what the force should look like.

Look like... but looks can be deceiving...

my old man taught me that years ago.

It's been so long since I saw one, I've forgotten what they look like.

This is the same guy with zero tolerance for corruption?
"Don Quixote", or what was his name?
Genius.
