Do you ever think about the family that left you behind

Featured Replies

I'm sitting here after my 5th bottle of Federbrau and once again thinking about my dead aunties, uncles. cousins and family that are all dead and gone,  they have all died long ago and I didn't get to see them in the later years of their life due to work or whatever.  I think about how sad things are that i didn't go see them for a day or overnight visit. I don't have anyone else anymore, they're all dead .....    its just me ... I think about this every day constantly.  They're all gone.

Do you ever think about your dead relatives ?

just curious if you think about that also .....

In this day and age , you can talk to anyone in the World live face to face by pressing a few buttons

  • Never.  They were all a bunch of AH including my abusive parents.  Hated them all.  I am fortunate I have a son and grandkids I am close with speak with them 3 times a week.

  • Not really. Dead people are dead. One less lunch isnt much.   Better off making new friends. Family members are 75% ahs normally.   Thais are more friendly. Farangs are selfish

I live for the future and not in the past

A melancholy post but it seems you had an excellent relationship with a big broader family unit so be happy for that. I have a close immediate family but there are aunts and uncles in relation to which I don't know if they are alive or not - including my mother's twin after they fell out 40 years ago.

It might be symbolic of you seeing yourself in them. You could think about now and think about if the  beer is still fun and a good thing.  Try and relax and remember the humour of those gone and live for now.

I occasionally think of my dad, always fondly. My mom? The entire family would p!ss on her grave if anyone knew where it was.

They couldn't even care less about me and if they did it would only cause problems! ????

Better to regret the things you did than the things you didnt do.

I get the occasional fleeting memory trggered by something but thats about it.

The recent Queens death etc triggered memories of my Mothers death, that sort of thing, but generally no I try not to dwell on history too much. ????

It's never too late to start your own family.

When you have a baby screaming at you then you won't have time to think of the past.

Sometimes a dead person, relative or not, comes to my mind. Maybe I remember some good times together or something I learned from that person, or maybe how annoying that person was.

And then I continue with life.

Life is changing all the time. Some people die, some people are just not in our life anymore, and we meet new people.

It's up to us to make the best out of our lives and any situation.

Stagnation won't bring happiness. Life does change - it doesn't matter if we want that or not.

My youngest baby is now 18 here in Thailand. My oldest baby is 44, married with a wife I have never met, and a son and daughter of his own, who I have never met either.

but an 8 yr old wouldn't be too bad,  just give him a mobile with ROV ( GAME )  and 100 baht, and send to the shop ...   hahaha ....   he'd be  happy.
