Since when did the rightful owners have to pay thieves to have their stolen goods returned?

LOL, that attempt at justifying the unjustifiable, and the crimes of colonial occupation are unjustifiable, is just sad.

Well as I previously said, the whys and wherefores of the crimes of colonial occupation are for the South African government to decide, including land redistribution, reparations and the return of stolen diamonds.

What law has been broken in the U.K acquiring that diamond ?

State which law has been broken

The arguments on the theft of the diamond are in the OP.

I think the claim for its return is fair enough.

It is for the South African majority elected government to decide on whether to pursue its return.

"I think its stolen so that means its stolen" wouldn't really stand up in a Court of law

Those are not the words you said (and put in speech marks) I used.

Now get back on topic as you obviously cannot back up your deliberate mistruth.

I was paraphrasing the link which you directed me to

*

He told CNN that "colonial transactions are illegitimate and immoral."
"Our narrative is that the whole Transvaal and Union of South Africa governments and the concomitant mining syndicates were illegal,"*

He doesn't actually explain why they were illegal , he just claims they were

It wasn’t me who made that statement. However it certainly seems to be the basis for a claim.

Yet again I say, It is up to the South African government to decide on the pursuit of the stolen diamond.

The colossal gems return would be a magnanimous gesture sure to please a majority of people worldwide.

But it begs the question: “To whom should be given?”

South African leaders are notoriously corrupt and large urban areas are controlled by armed gangs.

The apocalypse foreseen by clear-sighted writers is here now.

That's the big question... "To whom should [it] be given?"

Any ideas?

Only fully Woke responses will be seriously considered.
