Big Joke going after eleven corrupt officials in multi million baht illegal fishing case

Lt-Gen Surachate Hakpan - the Thai policeman known as Big Joke - is determined to root out corruption in the fishing industry.

 

Thai Rath reported that back in December 2021 there was a case of five ships illegally fishing in Thai waters in the south.

 

Names on the boats had been changed from Malaysian to Indonesian operators.

 

Three prosecutions and fines of 20 million baht have been made while two are still under investigation.

The boats were meant to be kept for sale but it emerged that they had travelled to Malaysian waters where they have been stopped.

 

Now Surachate is determined to prosecute 11 corrupt officials who allowed this to happen by taking back-handers. 

 

He promised they would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. 

 

Surachate was put in charge of sorting out illegal fishing by retiring RTP chief pol Gen Suwat Chaengyodsuk.

By the time they all get to Court and actually convicted he will be long retired and most likely be Ashes.  They and their Families will never be in any danger of losing the spoils either as they will have been spent or moved Off-Shore !

Here is a much easier case for Big Joke  investigated a local Mayor in Chon Buri area who reported her assistance was stealing baht from her bedroom amount over 10 million? ????  That would be interesting.
