I entered this on line - 'children drowning in Thailand statistics' and got this -

'Each year, nearly 1,500 children in Thailand die because of drowning, or about 4 children per day on average, which is a much higher rate compared to those in developed countries such as Australia or the United States.'

Of course the child was left unsupervised:

'It was not immediately clear if the boy had been left unsupervised while the father was working and running errands and Lt. Col Kawin stated to the press that this was being reviewed'

<deleted>!!! If you need to go somewhere, then YOUR the kid with you, instead of leaving him alone!!!

Nobody else to blame than the selfish idiot of a father!

Surely must be more to this story. My daughter is just turned 6 and 128 cm tall (she's tall for age), BUT surely this kid could have just stood up if the pool was 1.2m ?

jail the parents

Seems the father routinely left the child alone while he worked or did chores.

The child being what it is, was left alone to keep himself amused..

seems the idea of going for an illicit swim backfired.
