sure sure and the Pope is catholic

I doubt many would worry about military coups if only the generals had economics and finance in their PhDs. Maybe some recurring retraining in #how to run a country" 101.

Is this not what happened the last time?

The unelected PM and his fat sleeping partner.

Why would they stage a coup…against themselves?  That’s like saying “don’t worry, I won’t shoot myself in the head.”

Breathtaking! That is possibly the most blatant lie ever told by anyone wearing a uniform in Thailand, and that's really saying something. Everyone knows that it could not be further from the truth, as is evidenced by the numerous coups that have taken place over many decades. Not only that, the army chief who removed the democratically elected government and installed himself as PM still lives in an army compound.

Yup. Living in the compound provides safety in numbers.

Also it allows the police to patrol the gates to protect the soldiers.

Brilliant stuff????????

If Thailand ever gets another civilian govt a coup will follow sooner or later.

Unless it's needed to protect the monarchy, again

" The army stay away from politics "

I simply dont understand the point of a statement thats so blatantly false.

Its a great shame that Thailand lacks investigative reporters and a quizical media.

and act as the tools of the government that was responsible for national administration

Yep, them tools alright :stoner:

Hmmmm…. That would just about confirm there is going to be a coup. Otherwise why bother announcing it?

The current PM also doubles as defense minister?

The military regime is the government, more generals in politics than civvies.

If the next election goes against the military and they can't rig it otherwise there will be another coup.

In what other country are coups talked about in such a reasonable order of the day manor? Its just weird.

If there was going to be a coup would they announce it?

Suspiciously, that's EXACTLY what someone who was planning a coup would say ????

This is Thai mumbo jumbo for we are ready and waiting to take our share of the country's wealth as the current incumbents said exactly the same thing.

It's also laughable to suggest the Thai army isn't into politics.
