Scott Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 The Kremlin is threatening retaliatory action after authorities arrested Artyom Uss, the son of a top Russian official, at the United States’ request, for allegedly participating in a sanctions evasion and money laundering scheme. Uss, who was detained in Milan, was charged in relation to a scheme to unlawfully obtain U.S. military technology and sanctioned Venezuelan oil in order to support Russia’s war effort in Ukraine, according to charges unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice this week. “We are categorically against this and we condemn the practice of these kinds of arrests of Russian citizens,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-rages-son-putin-official-194129795.html

Whereas invading and devastating neighbouring countries is fine and dandy… …until you start getting your posterior kicked that is. 3

Just not be brave enough to do it to their neighbors, of course. 1 1
Jingthing Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Good news for the war effort but bad news for Brittney Griner.

It was cowardice and arrogance that led putin to invade Ukraine not bravery. putin grossly overestimated his military might and thought he would win with ease. Then when things went wrong he threatened using nuclear weapons. I doubt he meant it, but it typical of his bullying mentality. I hope the cowardly piece of excrement lies awake at night twisting and turning in his own flop sweat as he worries about what defeat means for his long term survival. 4 1

I think Putin's biggest mistake wasn't that dumb. Still evil of course. He thought the western response to the total invasion would be something like when he stole Crimea. It wasn't a crazy assumption. But it turned out to be super wrong. 3
