Police are confident that they will be able to retrieve all 159 guns, stolen from Pak Kret police station over the past five years by a non-commissioned police officer, within the next few days.

Pol Maj-Gen Pananchai Chuenjaitham, deputy commissioner of Region 1 Provincial Police Bureau, said today (Saturday) that 41 weapons have been retrieved so far, as police investigators search for the rest in various provinces, including Chanthaburi and Suphan Buri.

He said that some of the stolen guns had been resold to the third parties adding, however, that police know the identities of those who bought the guns from Chaowalit Pumkajorn, who was in charge of supervising the distribution of guns at Pak Kret police station.

So, how many bullets have they fired in that time? They just can't climb above the third world, can they?

You gits can't find the sun in broad daylight. Never mind finding 100+ guns sold to anonymous buyers in the 'next few days'. What a laugh.

Did NO-ONE bother to try to recover these stolen weapons during the last 5 years  ?

Of course not because it’s in impossible task.

100’s of illegals guns from that one station will be in anonymous hands in all corners of Thailand.

Face saving = getting their hands on as many guns as possible from anyone & anywhere for the ‘photo opportunity’…..  then a few sacrificial officers sent to inactive positions… all sorted…. No illegal guns in Thailand anymore !!!!!!!!!

Aren’t the big honest & great !!!

The person they got for selling them all must be a complete imbecile if he kept a log of who he sold illegal guns too !

Maybe they all went the route of one or two major dealers

Plod seems confident ( as usual ) so maybe they know exactly were all the Guns went already

I've been in Thailand for a fair while now, this must be one of the worst low points I've seen for the Police force.  Yes they are a joke and yes they have been "reformed" many many times and yet this happens.  Just give up, get rid of them all and bring in the army to do the job!

what leads you to think the army would act any differently in a similar situation?

That seems somewhat optimistic…
