Eight kilometer tailback as crane hits three vehicles on Friendship Highway

Naew Na Thai Caption: Brake failure after going down a hill

 

Naew Na reported on an accident on the Friendship Highway KM marker 87 in the Pak Chong area.

 

A mobile crane going down the hill suffered brake failure and ended up under the motorway section.

The crane was hit in the front by a 22 wheel vehicle. 

 

A Fortuner was also damaged.

In total 5 people were injured. 

 

The accident caused tailbacks of 8 kilometers on the highway, an important artery to the North East of Thailand.

Anyway, Too much truck for a Thai driver.

These vehicles are equipped with Air brakes training commercial drivers how to test them prior to moving the vehicle and logging it into a recorded log book for that vehicle would reduced or eliminate such an excuse. But this is Thailand!
